Conference Information

What are the official dates of the 2018 JIB-NFA Annual Conference?
The official dates are Monday, July 16 through Thursday, July 19, 2018. 

Who should attend the JIB-NFA Annual Conference? 
Attendees include franchise owners, franchise operators, franchise partners and valued vendors.

Where is the JIB-NFA 2018 Conference located? 
The Conference will be held at Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island, in Nassau, Bahamas.

What is the first event? When does the Conference open? 
The first official event of the Annual Conference is the Golf Tournament on Monday, July 16th, 2018 at 7:00am. The Opening Welcome Reception is also on Monday, July 16th, and kicks off at 7:00pm. 

What is the last event? When does the meeting end? 
The 2018 JIB-NFA Conference officially concludes on July 19th with the Awards Night Dinner which will be held starting at 6:30pm.

What are the Hotel Conference Package dates?
The four-night hotel package dates are Monday through Thursday, July 16, 17, 18 and 19 with checkout on July 20, 2018.

*Note: If you plan to golf in the 7:00am tournament on Monday, you will need to secure an extra night for Sunday, July 15, 2018.

What is the Dress Code for the Conference? 
Attire is business casual. Feel free to be comfortable in slacks, polo shirts, Hawaiian shirts, sweaters, blazers, blouses and most importantly, comfortable shoes.  We do recommend you dress in layers as temperatures in meeting rooms can vary and the weather outside will be warm. We do not recommend jeans, shorts or other casual clothes.

Resort and sports attire is appropriate throughout the day. Shoes and cover-ups are required in the lobbies and in all indoor restaurants, lounges and public places at all times. Clothing specifically designed for tennis should be worn on the courts.

**Please note: July weather in the Bahamas can be described as very summer-like with lots of humidity. Daytime high temperatures at most beach resorts average in the mid- to upper 80s F. Nighttime temperatures only dip into the 70s F.

Are children allowed at the Conference?
Of course! The Association welcomes families to attend our events. Children 11 & under need to register for a “Kids Club” package, which is explained in more detail on the REGISTRATION tab. All children 12 and over are required to register for the conference as “Guests”.

Can I get a discount on my airfare to the Conference?
Our group has partnered with United and Delta Airlines to provide discount airfare. Visit the Travel page for details.

How do we get from the airport to Atlantis Resort?
BY TAXI: Your first option is to jump in a taxi. From the Nassau airport, taxi rates are approximately $38 to Paradise Island—plus the bridge toll ($2 to Resort/none on return) and gratuity. Fares are based on two passengers; there is an additional charge for extra passengers and extra luggage.

BY CAR: While most tend to get around just fine via taxi, car rentals are another option. We have secured group discounts for various rental agencies: Visit the Travel Tab for details. If you decide to rent a car, please remember that driving in Nassau Paradise Island is on the left side of the road. 

What is the parking like at The Atlantis Resort?
For guests staying on property, Valet Parking is the best value at $16.75 per day.

Self-Parking rates are as follows:
0-3 hours - $9.67
3-6 hours - $11.82
6-10 hours - $13.97
10-12 hours - $16.12
12 – 24 hours or for lost tickets - $19.35

What time is hotel Check-in & Check-out?
Check-in at Atlantis is 4pm and Check-out is at 11am. Luggage and large items may be stored with the bellman. If your room is ready before 4pm, you will be allowed to check-in early.

What do we do if we arrive before our room is available or depart after check-out?
The hotel's Transit Lounge offers complimentary changing facilities including showers, bathing suit dryers, changing rooms and lockers to arriving and departing guests. The loung is located adjacent to the Royal Towers in between the East and West wings.

Do I need an Electricity Adaptor?
The resort has a voltage capacity of 110V for U.S. electric razors, hair dryers and other standard electrical equipment used in guest rooms. All European appliances require an adapter, which can be obtained from Housekeeping.

How do I make a hotel reservation?

Four Night Conference Package

Are there discount packages for Franchise Operators and Partners?
Franchise Operators will receive two discounted registration packages. Franchise Partners will receive one discounted registration package.

How do I register for the conference package with hotel? 
Enter your hotel arrival and departure dates. (Note: If you are sharing a room with another REGISTERED attendee, your hotel information will not be collected.) If you are not prompted to collect arrival and departure information, you have NOT selected that you need a room reservation for yourself.

What if I purchase additional hotel nights?
If you plan on arriving early or staying later than the package dates of July 16, 17, 18 and 19, purchased additional nights before or after the conference will be calculated in the final invoice as an average daily balance (minus the 4 nights covered under your hotel package).

What if I need to cancel my registration?
Conference registrations cancelled on or before May 1, 2018 will be entitled to a full refund, minus an administration charge of $75. Registrations cancelled after May 1, 2018 will not be entitled to a refund. Please forward cancellations by email to UME Productions at registration@UMEproductions.com. Refunds will be processed thirty (30) days AFTER the conference ends. You can expect your refund around August 20, 2018.

What if I need to send someone else in my place? 
Attendees may transfer registrations but must notify us immediately by email. All requests must be sent to Registration@UMEProductions.com up to 72 hours prior to the conference.

Franchise Registration Information

What is included in my registration?
Conference Registration packages include lodging for two (2) attendees, attendance for two (2) to the General Sessions and Keynote Session, Educational Breakouts, two (2) tickets to the Welcome Reception, two (2) adult entries to the Vendor Tradeshow, and two (2) dinner tickets to the Closing Night Awards Dinner.

The hotel enforces a maximum of four (4) guests per room with an additional charge of $50 per person for the 3rd and 4th persons. Any additional guests sharing accommodations (up to 2 additional room guests) over the age of 12 must purchase a “Guest” registration to attend the events
of the conference. This includes all food functions and General Sessions.

How much is a Guest Registration?
A Guest Registration package is $700. It does not include the four-night hotel accommodations.

Where can I get a registration form? 
Registration is available online. CLICK HERE to be redirected to the registration page. Phone registrations will NOT be accepted.  

How do I know if I'm registered? 
All attendees will receive a confirmation by email. This confirmation is your receipt and verifies your address information.  If you have questions, please call or email registration@UMEProductions.com OR 760-798-2957 ext 112

How will I receive my conference badge?
When you arrive at the registration counter, you will receive your badge and additional conference materials and gifts for your valued attendance.

General Resort Information

What are the check-in and check-out times at Atlantis?
Check-in at Atlantis is 4pm.
Check-out is at 11am.

What if I arrive early or need to checkout before my departure to the airport?
Luggage and large items may be stored with the bellman. Atlantis offers guests complimentary use of Transit Hospitality Lounges, which allows guests with early arrivals (prior to 4pm check-in) or late departures (after 11am checkout time) to shower, change and store small personal items while they continue to enjoy the resort's amenities.

Facilities include lockers, showers, restrooms, changing facilities and bathing suit dryers.

For Royal Towers guests, the Transit lounge is located in between the East and West wings.

If your room is ready before 4pm, you will be allowed to check-in early.
If you are leaving after 11 am, please let us know 24 hours in advance.
The front desk will make every effort to manage requests for late check-out. 

What is the dress attire at the resort?
Resort and sports attire is appropriate throughout the day. Shoes and cover-ups are required in the lobbies and in all indoor restaurants, lounges and public places at all times. Clothing specifically designed for tennis should be worn on the courts.

What is the weather like in the Bahamas?
The climate in the Bahamas is sub-tropical. In the islands there are basically two seasons: Wet and Dry. Brief heavy showers are common throughout the year. We call that Liquid Sunshine.

Average temperatures range between 70 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Wet Season is from June through November which is also the hurricane season. The height of the tropical activity is traditionally between August and October.

Can I ship items to the resort before I arrive?

To ship anything, including letters or packages to Atlantis, please note the exact address below. Please be sure to indicate who the delivery is for. The preferred method for shipping is to use Laser International Freight Transport.

Does the Resort have On-site Babysitting Services?
In-room babysitting services are available. All babysitters are CPR-certified. 

Rates are per hour: 
Up to 10:00pm: First Child: $25, Additional Child: $10
After 10:00pm: First Child: $30, Additional Child: $10

A maximum of four children are allowed per sitter. There is a three-hour minimum requirement and cancellations must be received at least three hours in advance to avoid a $60 cancellation fee.

*A 7.5% Value Added Tax (VAT) will be added to babysitting fees.

What are the age restrictions at the Atlantis Resort?
There are a few regulations concerning age, which are strictly enforced. A person must be 18 years or older to do the following:

*One person staying in each room must be at least 18-years-old or above to confirm a room in the Beach, Coral or Royal Towers, The Reef Atlantis, and The Cove Atlantis. This guest must hold a major credit card in their own name to be used at check-in.

Is there an ATM on property?
ATMs are located in the Convention Center and in the Casino and may be used with credit cards. There is a service charge.

Is there a food store at Atlantis?
A limited selection of groceries are available at Atlantis Sundry Shops, for a wider selection, a food store is located a few blocks from the resort.

Can we drink tap water?
Although tap water is safe to drink, it is a precious commodity in The Bahamas. Bottled water is available in the restaurants, lounges, Sundries Store and guestroom bar for a fee. 

Will my cell phone work at Atlantis?
Contact your cell company to inquire about your international options.
You can rent a Batelco-serviced cell phone upon arrival at Atlantis Business Center.

About the Hotel Rooms & Amenities

Room Capacity
All Atlantis standard guest rooms have a maximum occupancy of up to four persons in the room. Larger accommodations are available such as Luxury Suites which can accommodate up to eight persons and Villas that sleep up to ten persons.

What are the amenities in most rooms?
Most rooms have a coffee maker, iron and ironing board, hair dryer and in-room safe for the storage of valuables.

Does the hotel offer room accommodations for the physically challenged?
Almost completely wheelchair accessible, we strive to provide the best for all our Atlantis guests. Handicap-friendly accommodations are offered on a limited basis. If you are interested in booking a special needs room, please contact us at 242-363-3000 so we can verify availability and secure the room in advance.

Atlantis Features for Handicapped Guests:
The only limitations for handicapped visitors are the actual beach and water slides. The hallway areas between towers provide elevators near  the staircases. All public areas at Atlantis are wheelchair accessible with minimal navigation. We offer handicap rooms with safety bars, lowered sinks and many offer roll-in showers.

Wheelchair Rentals:
Motorized chairs are available for $45 and $65 per day, depending on type.
Non-motorized are available for $20 per day.

Do I need an electricity adapter?

Is there internet service in the rooms?
Enjoy the freedom of wireless (WiFi) internet access. Service is included at the Beach Tower lobby, Coral Lounge in the Coral Towers lobby, Plato's Lounge in the Royal Towers lobby and Harborside.

WiFi is included within your daily resort fee for stays at Royal Towers, are as follows: Number of devices: 4 | Speed: 5MB

On-Site Services at Atlantis

Is there laundry service at Atlantis?
Complete valet laundry and dry cleaning services are available. Garments picked up before 9:00am are returned the same day. There is no laundry service on Sundays.

Is there a nurse/doctor on site?
Yes. Atlantis Mediclinic, located in the Beach Towers, is open from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 midnight every day.

There is an outdoor Nurse's station, located near Royal Towers and there is a medical doctor on call 24 hours a day.

Does the Resort have On-site Babysitting Services?
In-room babysitting services are available. The babysitter is not allowed to take the child/children out of the room unless they are accompanied by the parent(s). All babysitters are CPR-certified and have childcare qualifications as well as background and security checked by Atlantis Security Department.

Rates are per hour: *
Up to 10:00pm: First Child: $25, Additional Child: $10
After 10:00pm: First Child: $30, Additional Child: $10

A maximum of four children are allowed per sitter. There is a three-hour minimum requirement for each sitting. For sittings that last more than six (6) consecutive hours, we ask the guest to provide the babysitter with a meal or allow her a 30-minute break. She brings an agreement form with her to the room that must be completed prior to the service.

There are absolutely no cash transactions. Any tip or gratuity you wish to give the babysitter must be added to the form and the total amount will be charged to your account. Requests for cancellation or to change the booking time must be received at least two hours in advance to avoid a $60 penalty fee to your account.

What if I choose to stay off property at another hotel?
If you choose to stay off property, you can enter the Resort through the Corals and walk to the Convention Center. There are optional Day Passes for use of the Atlantis resort facilities.

Casual Restaurants:

How many restaurants, bars and lounges are available at Atlantis? 
Only one resort can bring you dining options to delight every palate. Atlantis features 20 restaurants and 19 bars and lounges offering everything from fine dining to quick-and-easy favorites. Grab a quick bite pool side, indulge in creative, Bahamian dishes, endless buffets, beach front dinners or enjoy family-style meals. Dining reservations are required for all fine dining and à la carte options.

How can I make dinner reservations?
Only those restaurants classified as Fine Dining will accept reservations for Dinner. No breakfast or lunch reservations are accepted at any restaurants. Dinner reservations are not accepted via fax or e-mail.

Do any of the restaurants offer a children's menu?
Absolutely! Olives, The Bahamian Club, Casa D'Angelo, Chop Stix, Seafire Steakhouse, Mosaic, Poseidon's Table, Bimini Road, The Point Restaurant, Virgil's Real BBQ, Murray's Delicatessen, Lagoon Grill and Carmine's all welcome children.
